Nepal to hold Cabinet meet at Mt. Everest

A meeting of the Nepalese cabinet will take place on Mount Everest to draw the attention of the global community to the threat from global warming. The entire cabinet of the 22-party coalition will move to the Everest base camp at an altitude of 17,585 feet later this month for the landmark meeting, said Forests Minister Deepak Bohora.<br/> The announcement comes ahead of the international climate change conference next month in Copenhagen, Denmark. Mr Bohara was quoted as saying by myrepublica online today that the proposal has been in the line even before Maldives conducted its cabinet meeting under-water recently. He said, the melting of the glaciers in the Himalayas is a matter of serious concern for all.
