Nepal's law makers will go for fifth round of polling today to elect a new Prime Minister. The re-polling is being held as both the contesting candidates – Unified CPN (Maoist) Chairman Prachanda and the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel failed to secure a simple majority to get elected in the past four rounds of voting. AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports that in the present 599 member parliament, a winning candidate must secure 300 seats to get elected. Out of a total of 601 members, one TMLP member resigned and a Maoist member died in the intervening period.
