The second phase of local elections in Nepal has been rescheduled for June 28. The decision was taken at cabinet meeting held at Kathmandu today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.<br/><br/>According to Information and Communication Minister Sushil Kumar Karki the decision was taken keeping in view the holy Ramadan. Election commission was also consulted before deciding the date of second phase polls. A delegation of Muslim community had met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at Kathmandu on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum to postpone second phase of local elections due to Ramadan.<br/><br/>Earlier on Monday Nepal government had announced that second round of local elections will be held on June 23 in place of original schedule of June 14. Local elections in Nepal were held after a gap of 20 years on May 14. In second round polling will be held in 41 districts of remaining 4 provinces.
