President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav of Nepal is to present the programmes and policies of the government for the coming fiscal year at the Legislature-Parliament in Kathmandu later today. Deputy Prime Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari, who also holds Finance portfolio, will present the budget on the 14th of this month. This will be the first time after the peace process in 2006 that a budget session is being held in time and according to parliamentary procedure.The coalition partners have agreed to focus on programmes that would support peace and constitution writing process . The opposition Nepali Congress in a sixteen point memorandum to the Prime Minister has asked for a special package in the forthcoming budget to restore confidence of depositors in banks and financial institutions, income generation and a policy to bring long term goals of the nation.
