President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari has stressed upon the need for economic empowerment of women and guarantee of their equal participation at all levels of decision making. <br/><br/>Addressing a programme to release a documentary 'Nepali women's struggle and success', in Kathmandu today, President Bhandari said that economic factor plays an important role in the empowerment of women. <br/><br/>She appealed to provide equal treatment and education to daughters and sons without any discrimination. President also insisted that constitutional and legal provisions made for equal participation of women in every state organ should be fully implemented. <br/><br/>In her address Speaker Onsari Gharti urged the concerned bodies to focus on timely implementation of the constitution so as to guarantee the rights of women, Dalits and other oppressed communities. <br/><br/>Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki said that right from the local level, women's meaningful participation in the decision-making process should be ensured. <br/><br/>The documentary is about the struggle and success stories of the first woman figures of Nepal assuming key positions including President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Speaker Onsari Gharti and Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki and others.<br/>
