In Nepal, major political parties today held consultations with the Terai based parties in an effort to form a national consensus government within the next five days of extended dateline set by the President.CPN(UML) leaders held a meeting with the leaders of three Terai based parties Madhesi Janadhikar Forum -(Loktantrik), Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party and Sadbhavna Party to discuss the current political stalemate on government formation.Talking to newsmen, CPN(UML) Chairman Jhalnath Khanal said that the main mission for the consensus government should be to end the peace process and complete drafting of the constitution. Khanal said his party cannot support a Maoist led government until it detaches itself from its combatants and implement the peace agreement.Earlier in day, the Maoist leaders held a separate meeting with the Terai based parties to seek their support for government formation. During the meeting, Terai parties suggested the Maoist to come up with a concrete action plan on consensus including the peace process acceptable to other political parties.
