Nepal PM leaves for New York to attend UN session

Nepal’s Prime Minister, Baburam Bhattarai left Kathmandu for New York on Sunday night to attend the 66th session of the UN General Assembly. Mr. Bhattarai is leading a 13 member delegation which includes Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha and senior officials of the government. The Prime Minister is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on the 24th of this month. According to a press release Mr. Bhattarai is expected to seek international cooperation in the country’s peace process. He is scheduled to meet with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon, and other world leaders on the sidelines of the UN General assembly.
