Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli greets India on 70th Republic Day

<span style="color: #222222;">Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli has greeted people of India on 70th Republic Day on Saturday.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In a tweet, Mr Oli said that he would like to congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian people on the auspicious occasion of Republic Day.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He extended his best wishes for good health and happiness of Mr Modi as well as for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of India. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">On the occasion of Republic Day, Vice President of Nepal, Nanda Bahadur Pun released a book to mark Seven Decades of India-Nepal diplomatic ties. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The book titled "India & Nepal- 70 Years of Diplomatic ties" was released at a reception hosted by Indian Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri at India House in Kathmandu. The event was attended by more than 1000 dignitaries, including senior political leaders, diplomats and representatives from different walks of life.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier in the morning, Ambassador Puri hoisted national flag at Indian Embassy. Despite rain and severe cold, hundreds of Indian nationals and friends of India enthusiastically participated in the celebrations. After hoisting national flag, Mr Puri read out President's message.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He honored widows and dependents of fourteen ex servicemen by distributing their dues worth 7.26 crore Nepali rupees. On the occasion, the Ambassador also presented keys of 30 ambulances and 6 buses to various hospitals, non-profit organizations and educational institutions of Nepal.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Since 1994, the Government of India has gifted 722 ambulances and 142 buses to various organizations across Nepal to expand access to healthcare and educational services in Nepal.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Embassy also announced book grant to 54 educational institutions and libraries across Nepal to promote access to educational material to students in remote areas.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The students of Kendriya Vidyalaya and Modern Indian School, artists of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center and Nepal Army band captivated audience with their mesmerizing performance filled with patriotism.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">70th Republic Day was also celebrated in other parts of Nepal. In Birgunj, Consul General of India, BC Pradhan unfurled the tricolor. A large number of Indian expats attended the event.</span><br />''
