Nepal PM Khanal holds meeting with Nepali Congress Prez

The Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. Jhala Nath Khanal on Thursday held a meeting with Nepali Congress President Mr. Sushil Koirala in Kathmandu. Mr Khanal reiterated his government’s commitment to conclude the peace process and promulgate the new constitution, and requested the National Congress’s cooperation to accomplish the pending tasks. In response, Mr Koirla pledged his party’s full support to conclude the peace process at the earliest. AIR correspondent reports, as the deadline for completion of the peace process draws near, the Prime Minister on Thursday reached out to the opposition leader. He briefed him about the steps being taken by the government to ensure that the peace process and the completion of new constitution. However the opposition leader is said to have expressed his reservations over the government’s plan. The opposition has said the priority should be the peace process and have raised objections to an early budget session.
