Nepal PM inducts three ministers in council of ministers

In Nepal, a week after his election, the new Prime Minister Jhanalath Khanal today inducted three ministers in his council of ministers. Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Manmohan Adhikari, Mr. Bishnu Poudel and Mr. Gangalal Tuladhar at a simple function at the Rashtapati Bhavan in Kathmandu in the presence of President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav. Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal took the oath of office from the President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on Monday, but no other minister could be inducted till today following differences with its ally- the Maoists on power sharing.AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports that the Unified CPN(Maoist), a key ally of the ruling CPN(UML) has decided not to join the government but to lend outside support to the Khanal-led government. This follows differences among the CPN(UML) and the Maoists on power sharing, with the Maoists insisting particularly on the Home portfolio, which the CPN(UML) is reluctant to part with.
