In Nepal Prime Minister, Jhala Nath Khanal government has decided to extend the Constituent Assembly’s term for one more year. The term of the current Assembly expires on the 28th of this month. The Constitution Amendment Bill has already been registered in the Parliamentary Secretariat Thursday evening so as to clear the way for extension of the Constituent Assembly. Earlier, Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal held a meeting with twenty-seven parties. The opposition Nepali Congress and some parties did not attend the meeting called by the Prime Minister. Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal-Prachanada said that there was no alternative but to extend the term of the Constituent Assembly.Prime Minister Khanal, who cut short his Turkey visit and arrived in Kathmandu early Thursday morning. He held consultations with the top leadership on the proposal for extending the Constituent Assembly’s term. Earlier the leaders of three major parties , UPCN-Maoist, Nepali -Congress and CPN-UML held several round of talks on peace process, constitution writing and power -sharing and for formation of a National unity government.
