Nepal PM capable of providing a strong govt: Indian PM

India today said that Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal is capable of providing a strong and purposeful government at the present moment. Prime Miister Dr. Manmohan Singh met his Nepalese counterpart on the sidelies of the SAARC summit in Thimphu and stressed for India's support for multi-party democracy in the Himalayan nation. Briefing the media about the bilateral meetings, Foregin Secretary Nirupama Rao said that New Delhi also expressed his belief in forward movement of constitutional process in Nepal. Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal briefed the Indian side about the internal politcal situation, constitution making progress and the reintegration of Maoist combatants. He also recalled his successful visit to India in August last year and reviewed the progress made in the implementation of agreements.In his meeting with Bangladesh Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina, Dr. Singh conveyed that one-billion credit agreement to Dhaka is moving forward and necessaryn projects are being indentified in this regard. Mrs Rao said that a high level delegation from Bangladesh will visit India next week to deliberate on water issues under the joint rivers commission meet.Dr. Singh also had a fruitful engagement with the King of Bhutan Jigmey Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk and expressed his great admiration over the manner in which King is forging ties with the people of his country. The way Bhutan is building democratic institutions was also appreciated by the Indian side.
