The Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal today held a meeting with the Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala and discussed issues relating to integration and rehabilitation of Maoist combatants and drafting of the constitution. <br/><br/>Talking to newsman after the meeting, Mr. Madhav Nepal said they focussed their discussions on timely drafting of the constitution and special committee on the integration and rehabilitation of the Maoist combatants aimed at taking the peace process to its logical end.<br/><br/>In Nepal, the Chairman of the Unified CPN(Maoist)Prachanda has said that the date line for the promulgation of the new constitution can be extended if it could not be declared within the scheduled date of May 28 this year.<br/><br/>Addressing a press conference in Kathmandu this afternoon, Prachanda however said efforts should be made to promulgate the new statute within the given time frame. Denying media reports, the Maoist Chief said he had not made any proposal to the Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala to lead a new government.
