Nepal PM Bhattarai expands cabinet

In Nepal, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai expanded his cabinet this evening by inducting six ministers from his party UCPN(Maoist) and coalition ally Samyukta Lotantantrik Madhesi Morcha. The newly appointed ministers were administered the oath of office and secrecy by the Prime Minister in the presence of President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at Sheetal Niwas in Kathmandu . With the expansion for the third time , the Bhattarai cabinet has twenty-one ministers.UCPN (Maoist) leader Lekh Raj Bhatta was sworn in as Minister for Commerce and Gopal Kiranti took the oath as Minister for CultureMadhesi Janadhikar Forum-Loktantrik (MJF-L) leader Sarat Singh Bhandari has been appointed as Defence Minister and Hem Raj Tated as Environment Minister. Anil Kumar Jha took the oath as Industry Minister and Brijesh Kumar Gupta as Minister of Law.
