Nepal’s Prime Minister, Jhala Nath Khanal on Tuesday appealed for support from all political parties to his government during the current difficult phase. In an address to the nation today, Mr. Khanal said he welcomed the five point deal reached with the political parties leading to the extension of the Constituent Assembly by three months. The Prime Minister said he takes his responsibility seriously and lead to the formation of consensus government and the drafting of the constitution is done within three months. He particularly urged the opposition Nepali Congress to co-operate and said he would not be an obstacle to the formation of national consensus government. The Prime Minister said the country has seen a phase when there was a care taker government for seven months and his government from the time has take office has had a difficult time. AIR correspondent reports, in his address Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal gave a clear hint that he would not step down until there is a concrete agreement to form a consensus government. According to the five point deal reached with the UCPN (Maoists), CPN -UML and Nepali Congress on Sunday morning the stepping down of Khanal to pave the way for a consensus government is one of the conditions and some of the parties have been demanding it . However he has made it clear he will not step down immediately unless there is a clear alternative.
