Nepal parties intensify parleys to break political impasse

In Nepal, political parties have intensified parleys to resolve the current parliament deadlock and speed up the peace and constitution drafting processes. Senior leaders of the ruling CPN (UML) and the opposition Unified CPN (Maoist) today met in Kathmandu to discuss a way out to end the current parliament deadlock and pass the budget.<br/>alking to newsmen after the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Unified CPN (Maoist) Narayan Kaji Shrestha said his party is hopeful of finding a solution in the next few days. Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal also held separate talks with the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subhash Nembwang, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Madhesh Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) Bijay Gachchadar and senior Nepali Congress leaders to end the parliament impasse.<br/>It may be recalled that the opposition Unified CPN (Maoist) have issued an ultimatum to the ruling parties to fulfill their demand for civilian supremacy by 20th of this month.<br/>
