Nepal newspaper owner shot dead at Janakpur

In Nepal, the owner of a regional newspaper and FM radio station has been shot dead at Janakpur in Dhanusha districft of Terai region last evening.<br/><br/>According to police sources, Arun Singhaniya died after he was shot in the head by unknown assailants as he was returning home after taking part in Holi festival, celebrated in the Terai region of Nepal yesterday.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, normal life in Janakpur town remained paralysed today after a spontenous shutdown to protest the murder.<br/><br/>The Federation of Nepalese Journalists has condemned the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Uma Singh, a journalist who worked for Singhaniya's FM radio station, was killed last year by an armed group.<br/>
