In Nepal, more than 36000 candidates have filed nominations for the third and final phase of local elections. According to Election Commission 36073 candidates filed their papers yesterday for 136 local bodies in 8 districts of Province 2. The commission has said that there was overwhelming participation during the filing of nominations. Final list of candidates will be published on Saturday held on September 18 in Province 2 of Tarai region. <br/><br/>More than twenty six lakh eligible voters will cast their vote to elect 6627 local representatives. As per the new constitution of Nepal local, provincial and parliament elections needs be completed by 21 January 2018. Two phases of local polls have already been completed on May 14 and June 28. Provincial and parliamentary elections are scheduled on November 26 and December 7.
