In Nepal, the opposition Unified CPN(Maoist) has postponed its scheduled program to announce 13 autonomous regions scheduled for Monday, which is a part of their ongoing nationwide anti-government protests.In a press release, the party however said that its scheduled programme to blockade Kathmandu valley on 10th of this month and encircling the Singha Darbur- the main government secretariat would continue as scheduled. Earlier, the Maoists had withdrawn their scheduled program of blocking the country’s only international airport in Kathmandu on 10th of this month following pressure from the western diplomats based in Kathmandu.The opposition Maoists began their second phase of anti government protests from the first of this month and organized picketing in front of district administration offices across the country in the last two days to protest against the President’s move on reinstating the former army chief and demanding restoration of the civilian supremacy.
