The Left Alliance in Nepal has got a two-third majority in the National Assembly, the upper house of Parliament. <br/><br/>In 59-member National Assembly the alliance has won 39 seats. Communist Party of Nepal (UML) got 27 seats and its partner Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) won 12. <br/><br/>The Nepali Congress got 13, while two prominent parties of Madhes, Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal and Rashtriya Janta Party Nepal bag two seats each. <br/><br/>Election for 56 seats of National Assembly was held on Wednesday. The remaining three members will be nominated by the President on recommendation of the government. <br/><br/>The left alliance had already secured close to a two-third majority in 275-member House of Representatives, the lower of parliament. <br/><br/>The declaration of National Assembly election has paved the way for formation of new government under Left Alliance. <br/><br/>The historic parliamentary and first-ever provincial assembly election was held in two phases on the 26th of November and the 7th of December last year.
