Nepal Govt to formed probe committee to look into Agni Air plane crash

Nepal government has formed a five-member probe committee to look into the crash of Agni Air plane this morning that claimed fourteen lives. The committee formed under the coordination of aviation expert Kumar Prasad Upadhyay has been asked to submit its report within 65 days. The bodies of all the 14 persons including crew members killed in the plane crash this morning in Makwanpur district have been brought to Kathmandu this afternoon. The bodies will be handed over to the families of the victims after post mortem. The Lukla-bound plane, crashed near a school at Shikhapur while returning to Kathmandu after it could not land at Lukla due to bad weather. The ill fated Dornier 9N-AHE plan of private Agni airlines was carrying three crew members and eleven passengers including six foreigners at the time of the crash. Nepal government has offered its condolences to the families of all the victims of the Agni Air crash today. Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal visited the Tribhuvan Airport this afternoon and met the families of the plane crash victims.The US Embassy says it has contacted the next of kin of the four American citizens who lost their lives in this tragic accident. One British and a Japanese national were among the six foreign nationals killed in the crash.
