In Nepal, the top leaders of Unified CPN(Maoist) and CPN(UML) today decided to make all efforts to form a national consensus government within the July 7 dateline set by the President. <br/>Talking to newsmen, Maoist Vice President Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said the meeting discussed issues relating to forming a national consensus government, saying there is no alternative to consensus. He however, said both the parties have decided to continue their discussion on leadership issue. Dr. Bhattarai claimed that Maoist would form the government, being the largest party in the constituent assembly. <br/>The CPN (UML) Chairman Jhalnath Khanal however told reporters that Maoist cannot lead the new government as long they do not implement the past agreement on peace process. <br/>AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports that the meeting of the two left wing parties could not arrive at an agreement on the leadership issue with both the parties laying claim to the government leadership. <br/>
