Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Nepal is expected to become a vibrant middle income country by year 2030. Inaugurating Festival of Bengal and cross border trade and tourism expo at Kathmandu this evening, he said that to achieve this goal a large amount of public and private investment is required. <br/><br/>PM Deuba said that during his recent visit to India, extensive and fruitful discussions were held with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enhance cross border trade. He said that both leaders agreed to intensify collaboration on many fronts and facilitate trade and investment. PM Deuba also said that to foster more conducive investment climate, laws are being reformed, institutions strengthened and procedures simplified. <br/><br/>The Festival of Bengal is being organised by Embassy of India to celebrate 70 years of India's independence and 70 years of India-Nepal diplomatic relations. During the 8 day festival, musical performances, film shows and trade and tourism expo are being organised. Renowned Chef's from Kolkata are also showcasing Bengali cuisine. <br/><br/>A business delegation from West Bengal-Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industry (WBNCCI) is also attending the festival. It will hold discussions with Nepal's business leaders, senior government officials, Nepal Investment Board and Kathmandu Metropolitan Corporation. <br/><br/>The festival is being organised in association with Nepal Tourism Board, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and a private hotel. The Festival is part of Indian Embassy's effort to showcase cultural richness of various Indian States bordering Nepal.<br/>
