The election result of all 136 local bodies in Nepal has been declared. <br/><br/>Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal has won the mayor post of Birgunj, the only metropolitan city of province 2. <br/><br/>Nepali Congress has emerged as leading party in final phase of local polls. It has won 40 posts of Mayor and Chairperson. <br/><br/>Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal won 26, Rashtriya Janata Party Nepal 25, Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) 21, Communist Party of Nepal (UML) 18 posts, Nepal Loktantrik Forum 3 and others have also won 3 posts. <br/><br/>Polling for third and final phase of local elections in 8 districts of Province 2 was held on September 18. Local elections in Nepal were held after a gap of 20 years. <br/><br/>With the conclusion of local polls an important stage of constitution implementation in Nepal has been completed. As per the new constitution it is necessary to complete, local, province and parliament elections by January 21 next year. Provincial and parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 26 and December 7.
