Nepal Dy PM Kamal Thapa calls on PM Modi; says his visit clears misunderstanding between two countries

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Nepal Kamal Thapa today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence.<br/><br/>The two leaders discussed issues of mutual concern. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was also present in the meeting.<br/><br/>Talking to reporters before leaving for Kathmandu, Mr Thapa said, the visit has been able to clear any air of misunderstanding between the two countries and he is very optimistic.<br/><br/>He said, he has requested Indian government to make flow of fuel smooth and resume supply in normal way.<br/><br/>Mr Thapa who was on a three-day official visit to India, on Sunday had extensive talks with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed the political situation in the Himalayan nation.<br/><br/>Talking to AIR Monday morning, External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup said, Mrs Swaraj and Mr Thapa discussed a range of bilateral issues.<br/><br/>He said, India has always been working for peace, progress and prosperity in the neighboring country.<br/><br/>The spokesman also said that Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister informed Mrs Swaraj that there is a shortage of essential commodities in Nepal and sought India's help in easing the supply situation.
