Nepal: CPN (UML) to make all efforts to form national consensus Govt

In Nepal, CPN(UML) the main ruling alliance has decided to make all efforts to form a national consensus government including the Unified CPN(Maoist).Talking to AIR Kathmandu Correspondent, CPN(UML) Chairman Jhalnath Khanal has said only a national consensus government will be able to take forward the peace process and drafting of a new constitution that will consolidate the democratic system.In reply to a question Khanal said, he had held talks today with three Terai based parties – Madheshi Janadhikar Forum, Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party and the Sadhbahvna Party, who are also in favour of a national consensus government. The UML Chief said he would request the President to extend the July 7th date line to form a consensus government as the dialogue process among the parties to resolve their differences, particularly on the issue of peace process may take even weeks to build to come to an understanding.AIR Kathmandu Correspondent reports that the political parties in Nepal are yet to reach on a consensus on government formation in the course of their discussions held so far with key differences over the number and modality of integrating Maoist army into the national security forces, a key issue linked to the peace process.
