The counting of votes for the first phase of local elections in Nepal has been completed in 281 local bodies out of 283. Counting in remaining 2 municipalities is still underway.<br/> <br/>According to Election Commission 13160 local representatives have been declared winner. Communist Party of Nepal (UML)'s Bidyasunder Shakya has won prestigious Kathmandu Mayor election. Nepali Congress Hariprabha Khadgi elected Deputy Mayor. Communist Party of Nepal (UML) has emerged as the largest party.<br/> <br/>Nepali Congress is second and Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) got the third place. Local elections in Nepal were held after a gap of 20 years on May 14. 73 percent voters exercised their franchise in 3 provinces in the first phase. Polling for remaining 4 provinces will be held in the second phase on June 14.
