In Nepal , the term of the sub-committee under the Constitutional Committee formed in a bid to narrow down the issues seen in statute drafting has been extended till May 27. The term of the Constituent Assembly is expiring on the 28th of this month. The meeting of the Constitutional Committee held today also decided to summon an all-party meet in order to address the demands of lawmakers, who have been obstructing the meetings of the Legislature-Parliament and the Constituent Committee demanding that the rights of the minorities be ensured in the new constitution.The Constitutional Committee Chairman ,Nilamber Acharya has said the demands of the four lawmakers-Biswendra Paswan, Rukmini Chawdhary, Sadrool Miya Haq, and Buddha Ratna Manandhar-will be addressed as per the mandate of the all-party meet.The Constitutional Committee meeting had been convened today after a gap of over one month . The statute sub-committee formed over two months ago has reached agreements on various key issues in the constitution but yet to forge consensus on the most critical issues ,the form of governance and state restructuring.
