In Nepal, campaigning for the second and final phase of parliament and provincial elections is on in full swing as just a week left for historic elections. <br/><br/>Leaders of various political parties are holding exhaustive election rallies and meetings in favour of their party in different parts of the country. <br/><br/>Candidates are also busy in the door to door campaigns. Social and digital media platforms are also being used especially in major cities including capital Kathmandu to woo the voters. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, incidents of attacks on candidates and election rallies have increased in last few days in various parts of Nepal. <br/><br/>A temporary police personnel, who was injured in an explosion near an election rally in Dang district on Tuesday, died during treatment yesterday. <br/><br/>In another incident, Nepali Congress candidate from Udayapur -2 parliamentary constituency Narayan Bahadur Karki and 6 others were injured in a blast in Dunuwarbeshi area of Udayapur district yesterday. <br/><br/>Chief Election Commissioner of Nepal Dr Ayodayee Prasad Yadav has requested government and security agencies to enhance security and create conducive atmosphere so that voters can exercise their franchise fearlessly. Polling for second and final phase will be held on December 7 in 45 districts. <br/><br/>The first round of election was successfully completed on last Sunday in 32 hilly and mountainous districts. 65 percent voters turn out was recorded in the first phase. <br/><br/>As per the new constitution of Nepal it is necessary to complete local, province and parliament elections by January 21 next year. Local elections have already been completed. <br/><br/>Our correspondent reports that the much-awaited parliament and provincial elections is being seen as significant step towards strengthening democracy and bringing political stability in Nepal.
