In the wake of the outbreak of bird flu in Nepal, the Sashastra Seema Bal has directed people in the border areas of Uttar Pradesh not to bring poultry from the neighbour country.
The Nepal government last week had issued high alert against bird flu after receiving confirmed reports of the avian influenza in dozens of chickens in Manahara river area of Bhakatapur district in the eastern part of Kathmandu valley.
However, district veterinary officer Mohammed Ahmed said that though there has been no case of bird flu in the Bareilly region of Uttar Pradesh so far, directives have been received from the authority to take all necessary precautions. The locals have also been asked not to hunt migratory birds.
