Nepal, Bhutan collaborates with RBI on collection & deposit of demonetised currency

India today said the Nepal Rashtra Bank and the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan are in touch with the Reserve Bank of India regarding facilitation of collection and deposit of scrapped notes of 500 and 1000 rupees notes. <br/><br/>MEA Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, the matter has been raised by both the Governments and India is considering the matter and the RBI will remain in touch with their counterparts in Nepal and Bhutan. <br/><br/>He said, the inter-ministerial task force formed by the Government is also looking into issues relating to foreign nationals, tourists, NRIs, PIOs and the Diplomatic Missions based in India holding old series notes.
