In the eight edition of SAFF Football Championships, hosts Nepal have won the inaugural match against Bangladesh 2-0 . In the match played at Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu , Nepal scored early with both goals being scored in the first half. In front of home packed crowd, Anil Gurung scored in the 18th minute followed by Bharat Khawas scoring in the 31 st minute.Bangladesh was not able to come back in the group A match. The other teams in group A are India, and Pakistan . In group B are Afghanistan ,Maldives, Bhutan and Sri Lanka .
