The three major political parties in Nepal are in favour of having simultaneous provincial and parliamentary elections. In a meeting held at Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's residence at Kathmandu yesterday the leaders of Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (UML) agreed to have provincial and parliamentary polls on the same day.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Deuba held consultations with Election Commission on possibility of holding both the elections simultaneously. The EC officials reiterated that it is difficult to conduct both the elections together.<br/><br/>As per the constitution of Nepal, elections for all three levels should be completed by January 21, 2018, to implement the federalism and constitution in the country.
