South Africa's ailing democracy icon Nelson Mandela's eldest daughter Makaziwe Mandela has said that anti-apartheid leader was very critical and anything is imminent. The Mandela family gathered at the Mediclinic Heart Hospital in Pretoria to visit the 94-year old peace icon who has been admitted since 8th June for a recurring lung ailment.

The sudden deterioration in Mandela's condition today forced South African President Jacob Zuma to cancel his trip to Mozambique, where he was to attend the key summit of Southern African Development Community. Presidential spokesperson Mac Maharaj said Mandela's condition has worsened over the past 48 hours.
