Union Information and Broadcasting Secretary Uday Kumar Verma has stressed the need for strengthening dispute resolution mechanisms in broadcast sector keeping in view challenges posed by phenomenon growth and convergence of the sector in the country.

He was addressing inaugural session of a seminar on regulatory frame work and dispute resolution in telecom, broadcasting and cable services in Srinagar today.

Verma said India now had the largest broadcasting television industry and digitisation of entire cable television network would ensure long- term benefit for all stake holders.

The seminar has been organised by TDSAT and it is being attended by eminent jurists, stake holders and policy makers.
