Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali has emphasised the need to develop transport corridors to promote trade and economic cooperation with India and other South Asian countries. Mr. Syed Muazzem Ali said this while addressing the Economic Cooperation Dialogue in Eastern South Asia organised by the United Nation Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Shillong yesterday.<br/><br/>He said, Bangladesh is keen to restore the connectivity that have been there with the north-eastern States of India. He said, Railways and river connectivity are considered the best as they are least expensive, most ecological and most economic viable. Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma said that identified trade corridors need to have proper connectivity infrastructure.
