Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh today said that the country needs more youth leaders to infuse creativity and dynamism in various endeavors for development.

Addressing the Republic Day Camp of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in New Delhi, Dr Singh congratulated the NCC for grooming the youth of the country.

He said that given the right opportunities, the youth of the country has the potential to rise to all occasions.

The Prime Minister said that NCC imbibes the feeling of patriotism and equality in the young cadets. He said that it teaches that service to the motherland should be the supreme duty of all citizens.

The Prime Minister lauded the invaluable help by the NCC cadets in the aftermath of Mumbai terror attacks in 2008 and Sikkim earthquake last year.

Dr Manmohan Singh also congratulated the NCC cadets for their achievements in various sports and adventure activities.
