Tamil Nadu Minister for Social Welfare and Nutrition Dr V Saroja has assured that necessary action will be taken to continue the scheme of providing eggs to school children to improve their nutritional status.<br />'' <br />''She was speaking to media persons at Chandrashekharapuram in Namakkal district near Trichy, Tamilnadu. The Minister said that the matter of continuing the scheme will be discussed with Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisamy as the schools are not functioning because of Covid 19. <br />'' <br />''Dr Saroja said that the "Cradle Child Welfare scheme" of the Tamilnadu government is functioning effectively and that more than 5000 children have been safely handed over to foster parents. This includes 4160 girls and 1100 boys.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Minister also said that a massive tree plantation programme is being implemented in Tamilnadu under the Green India Mission. She said that trees with herbal value and fruit yielding varieties are being planted and well tended by local self governments in vacant grounds and open premises under their control.</span><br />
