Nearly 12 thousand crore rupees of policy holders are lying unclaimed with various insurance companies in the country. Minister of State for Finance, Santosh Gangwar told Lok Sabha in a written reply there are no such instances of unidentified and unclaimed accounts under National Pension system. <br/><br/>He said, there is no system of capturing data relating to dormant accounts lying in private provident fund trust. Mr. Gangwar said, the IRDA has issued detailed directions on handling of unclaimed accounts of policy holders by the insurance companies.
