In Himachal Pradesh, out of 48 lakh 10 thousand electorates, nearly 65 percent exercise their franchise peacefully for parliament elections today.

Earlier in 1998 elections also 65 percent polling was recorded but the percentage this time would increase as the reports are still coming in election office, according to Chief Electoral Officer Narender Chauhan.

In the morning, polling started on slow note in all the four parliamentary constituencies and lone Sujanpur assembly bye election, but later on people moved towards polling booths recording highest ever polling in any of the parliament elections in the state.
