Nearly 50 lakh account holders were offered overdraft facility under the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna as on the 1st of this month. Sanction was issued in respect of 24 lakh and 56 thousand account holders. <br/><br/>Almost ten lakh account holders availed the facility. The total amount availed was over 134 crore rupees. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley gave this information in the Rajya Sabha today. <br/><br/>In a written reply, he said under the scheme, an overdraft facility of five thousand rupees is available to the account holders on certain conditions.
