In Bihar, about 50 percent voter turnout was recorded today during the fifth phase of polls in 35 constituencies spread over eight districts.State Chief Electoral officer Sudhir Kumar Rakesh told AIR that maximum of 52 per cent polling was recorded in Patna and Jehenabad districts.50 percent voter turnout was recorded in Sheikhpura, Nalanda and Bhojpur districts. 49 percent in Gaya, 48 percent in Nawada and 47 percent voting was recorded in Arwal districts of thae state. No major incident was reported from any part of the constituencies. AIR Patna correspondent reports that 269 persons were arrested as preventive measures during today poll. Political fortune of 490 candidates including 44 women have been sealed in EVms after today poll. Political bigwigs whose fate were sealed in EVMs include Ministers Prem Kumar, Harinarayan Singh, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha and Jitan Ram Manjhi.
