NDTV issue: Editors Guild terms order as violation of press freedom

The Editors Guild of India has termed the decision to take a leading Hindi channel off air for a day as a direct violation of the freedom of the press. <br/><br/>Condemning the order, the editors' body demanded that the order be withdrawn immediately.<br/><br/>NDTV has maintained that its coverage did not carry any information that had not been covered by the rest of the media, and was already in public domain.<br/><br/>This is the first-ever such order against a TV channel over its coverage of a terror attack, the norms regarding which were notified last year.
