Sixty flood and rescue teams of National Disaster Response Force, NDRF are pre-positioned in vulnerable locations across the country for prompt response to disasters.<br/><br/>An NDRF statement said the teams are engaged in rescue and relief work. Five teams have been deployed in West Bengal which carried out rescue operation at West Medinipur district and evacuated six persons. The team also distributed relief material to needy persons.<br/><br/>Three NDRF teams are on alert in Uttarakhand to respond in any type of emergency situations. The NDRF team deployed at Pithoragarh district yesterday assisted 115 pilgrims of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to cross the area which got blocked due to landslide near Paldhar village.
