NDRF teams move to flood affected areas of Guj, Rajasthan

National Disaster Response Force, NDRF has moved 21 search and rescue teams to flood affected areas of Gujarat and Rajasthan to assist the state administration. 15 Search and Rescue teams of NDRF consisting 510 trained responders along with 57 rubber boats have been deployed at various flood affected parts of Gujarat. Two more teams are being airlifted from Bhisinia Airfields to Gandhinagar and two teams from Pune airport to Ahmedabad. <br/><br/>Six teams consisting 228 trained responders along with 30 rubber boats have been deployed at Jhalawar, Jaipur, Udaipur and Jalore in Rajasthan. Six additional NDRF teams have been put on standby at NDRF base Ghaziabad, Arakkonam and Pune. So far, NDRF have evacuated 370 persons from affected areas to safer place. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in next 48 hours in the region. Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary today discussed the flood situation of Gujarat with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh. He has asked for maximum central assistance including rescue teams for flood affected areas of Gujarat.
