A team of National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) has joined this morning in the intense efforts of rescuing a child who fell into an open borewell near Trichy. <br />'' <br />'' The child, Surjith Wilson, fell into the abandoned borewell near his house, at Manapparai near Trichy yesterday evening. <br />'' <br />'' Several rescue teams from Trichy and neighbouring Coimbatore and Madurai including a Madras IIT-certified team are involved in the rescue efforts. Local ministers and district officials are coordinating the rescue efforts and a medical team with an ambulance is stationed nearby.<br />'' <br />'' The borewell is reported to have been dug up about five years ago. The incident has triggered another wave of checking for any open borewells in any part of the state.<br />
