National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has suggested some measures to be followed by the people during flood season so that the losses can be minimised. Taking to AIR News NDMA Member Kamal Kishore advised the people that before flood, they should keep their mobile phones charged for emergency communication and listen to radio, watch television and read newspapers for timely weather s. He also suggested the people to prepare an emergency kit containing first aid and medicines for diarrhea.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Mr Kishore said, during flood, the people should avoid entering flooded water and stay away from electric poles and power lines and eat freshly cooked and dry food that has been kept covered. The NDMA Member also advised people not to eat food that has been in flood water and use mosquito nets to prevent malaria.</span><br />
