NDMA sends experts team to review partially damaged buildings in quake-hit NE

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is deploying a team of experts in north east to assess the safety of partially damaged public buildings following the earthquake.The experts will advise the state government on issues related to repair and retrofitting of these buildings. <br/>The National Crisis Management Committee meeting chaired by Cabinet Secretary P. K. Sinha was held in New Delhi today to take stock of ongoing relief operations in Manipur. <br/>Manipur Chief Secretary participated in the meeting through video conferencing. The Home Ministry is coordinating with the NDMA, State government and related Central government departments and agencies for providing all necessary help to the affect people. As per the reports eight people lost their lives and 88 were injured due to earthquake.<br/><br/>One of the two NDRF teams that arrived in Imphal yesterday has been deployed in Tamenglong district. Another team of NDRF is on standby at Silchar. Power supply has been restored in the affected areas except in some parts of Senapati and Tamenglong districts. A three-member team from Power Grid is in the state to assist the restoration of power supply. A Central medical team has also been deputed to assist in the treatment of injured people. Telecom services are fully operational.
