NDMA prepares guidelines for hospital safety post AMRI tragedy

National Disaster Management Authority – NDMA – is preparing guidelines for hospital safety and preparedness to deal with emergencies. This follows the recent fire accident at AMRI Hospital at Kolkata.

The matter was discussed at a meeting of officers and experts in New Delhi Vice Chairman of the Authority Shashidhar Reddy said past guidelines largely dealt with disasters outside the hospital.

The new guidelines will address the major issues of emergencies inside the hospitals.
