NDMA and Facebook today introduced several initiatives in India Disaster Response Summit in Delhi to help respond and rebuild efforts to natural disasters in India. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju said that traditional communication channels are often offline and can take significant time and resources to understand where help is needed. <br/><br/>He said disastrous conditions can be managed effectively in India with the advent of advanced technology like social platform. He thanked Facebook for partnering with NDMA for this cause. He also said that Facebook has a huge experience in handling disaster in western countries and this phenomenal information can be used in Indian disaster management system. He said India is the first country to have come up with this kind of initiative.
